The Andean Experience Co treated a group of Virtuoso travel Agents along with agents from the entity from Peru to a FAM familiarization trip around the country in order to showcase their services in some of the major destinations in Peru; this included trips in Lima the capital city along the coast, Iquitos in the Amazon and Lake Titicaca located in the highland region of Puno.

The Journey began upon arrival at the Lima International Airport where the guests were greeted and quickly taken to an ocean front home for dinner and cocktails; afterwards, they were shown to the Country Club hotel for their overnight stay and the following day spent the morning having breakfast and getting to know Lima by visiting the Larco Herrera museum.

The FAM trip continued by heading to Iquitos and the exotic Amazon rainforest where the agents were to board the MV Aria, a luxury cruise that takes guests into a four day Amazon river adventure. The cruise featured 5 star luxury accommodations complete with a local menu composed by one of Peru’s most influential chefs Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. During the Amazon adventure, the agents were taken to the flooded forest, excursions through the rainforest and tours focusing on the local wildlife such as the dolphin expedition.

After the Amazon portion of the trip, the lucky agents were taken to the highland region of Puno in order to visit Lake Titicaca while staying at the luxurious Titilaka lodge. This amazing portion of the trip featured tours around the lake, visits to the Uros islands and the surrounding community of Socca all while being pampered by the Andean Experience operators.

The point of this Familiarization trip was to build awareness regarding the ability to provide a luxury oriented experience in Peru travel which is mostly known as a country that attracts the backpacking market. Adventure travel can now also be a correct fit for the more demanding traveler looking to stay in 5 star establishments and expecting first rate quality service.
