Hosting a Halloween Party? Consider Your Party Supplies Before the Big Event
September 13th, 2009With plenty of fun things to do, a Halloween party is usually one of the most looked forward to party of the year. There are several themes you can play with, different party guests to consider, and so many options for entertaining the guests. Will your Halloween party be a scary one with haunted house themes? How about a costume party? Just for the kids? Just for grownups? Or will it be for the whole family? The variety can be endless and whatever you choose, you will need to source the appropriate party supplies.
Planning ahead is most important! You will need to know what party supplies you’ll need, how many guests you should invite and what sort of fun refreshments you should provide as well.
• Make it Fun: It’s important that you plan your Halloween party with both your guests’ and your own preferences in mind. The party supplies you use should reflect on your party’s theme, which in this case is likely to focus on something between fun and cute and outright gruesome. If children are there it can still have scary elements as long as they’re not too terrible for the little ones or their parents’ preferences. If it’s for grownups liquor and all the horror you can handle are likely to be involved. Have fun with it!
• Getting Party Supplies: It’s up to you what sort of party supplies you use. However, always keep track of your budget and consider using party wholesalers as well. Not all party stores are created alike and you may need to use several sources to get everything you want. A Halloween party means that you’ll be shopping party stores both online and off, costumers, grocers and other theme stores. Of all holidays Halloween is second only to Christmas in the amount of shopping and planning you’ll need to do. Be sure that you have enough snacks, treats, decorations, along with plates, silverware and cups to last the whole Halloween Party. This holiday is probably one of the few during which using disposable items is not only preferable but advised.
• Activities: What is a Halloween party without things to do? Will there by games? If there are children or it’s a family event games like bobbing for apples, organizing a trick or treat, or a spooky story could be in order. For older guests you could have a b-movie night, have a dj or play CDs yourself for dancing and mingling. You could also plan a haunted house, gauging the scares based on the age of the guests coming to the party.
• Refreshments: The truth is that the sky is the limit on what you could offer your guests. For a fun family affair themed food can add that little something extra. This could be anything from a pizza party to cake, punch, cookies, chips, and candy shaped like ghosts, spiders, witches and vampires. For a more grown up party there could be a big party with an assortment of snacks and hors de oeuvres with sodas, punch, and liquor or a casual pizza party with friends gathered around the television.
